Anthem of Dissent

“Nurturing dreams suddenly take flight,
on this African soil under the sun’s warm light.
Shadows loom as we bear a choking burden:
The Finance Bill whispers, “More taxes to share.”

No longer shall we silently comply,
Our voices shall echo the unrest within.

Tax upon tax, a weight slowly drowns our hopes
Our pockets stretched thin, our dreams lay dormant.

The farmer tills soil, sweat on his brow,
His harvest diminished by the taxman’s vow.
Entrepreneurs strive, their businesses bloom till

Financial shackles tighten impending their doom.
In classrooms, young minds sought knowledge’s grace,
Now lessons cost more, their futures, hopes displaced.
Artists and creators weave stories and song,
New levies will stifle their voices so strong.
No more! We declare with hearts intertwined,
Community spirit and prayers raising as one.
Every Kenyan soul, a beacon of might

Banding together, stand up and be heard!
In unity we’ll rise, our voices resound,
Letting justice prevail on this sacred ground.
Let’s reject the bill with its promise of a burdensome
weight.

NO TO THE FINANCE BILL!”
Our collective fates sigh. We reject the bill,
we reject its twisted verses … EJECT IT!

Ee Mungu Nguvu Yetu,” we intone as we gather
woven threads of diverse hues, from Nairobi’s bustling
streets to distant plains; our voices shall blend as a
symphony of truth. This chorus rising to break free
from chains that’ll shackle us to poverty and pain.

May our actions reverberate through time, a testament
to our collective strength, unity, action, prayer.”
