No Human Is Limited

Mural of Kipchoge Keino on Nairobi’s Streets

No human is limited
I remember this
When the light around me
Seems to have dimmed:
When doubt blows hard from the left
Fear whispers unto my flame from the right
And anxiety pulls at my spark at the center,
I am not limited
I loudly whisper.

It’s like the words have warmth in it
No human is limited.
It’s like they’re the firestone
That sparks a flame in me.
No human is limited.
It warms my faith up into action
No human is limited.
It brightens the hope harboring in my blossom.
No human is limited.
It’s like food to my brain
Rekindling my neurons to fire up
Synapses that weren’t in sync.
No human is limited.
It’s like ink seeping onto paper
Of my psyche.
No human is limited.

One man sparked a fire in many
For all is one and one is all,
No human is limited.
And until now we are warmed
By his fire
During the dark times.
And his success lights our path.
No human is limited.

So I sink down on my knees
Link that word to this
Send it to my unlimited link above
Who shines light unto my path
And along with the spark from the runner
Plus the fire from other afrobloggers
I turn back on my paper
Ink stories screaming to be let out
Streaming thoughts and stringing feelings
I paint with words
Power, beauty and wonder,
Stories to last a lifetime,
Tales to fire and forge us
And I remember once again
No human is limited.
